Atkins is looking to recruit graduates into the Rivers and Coastal team which has offices all over the UK.
You will join our flood management team to work alongside experienced staff on a range of projects.
Typically the projects being carried out at any one time include:
• Flood hazard and vulnerability mapping using 1D, 2D and coupled 1D/2D models for both fluvial and coastal flooding
• Development of flood forecasting and warning services for both fluvial and coastal flooding
• Appraisal of flood defence schemes, to identify the viability of new schemes and the performance of current schemes
• Supporting water resource studies (e.g. Water Level Management Plans, Water Cycle Strategies)
• Assessment of hydraulic structures
• Applying latest policy guidance for developing flood risk assessments for developments ranging from residential dwellings to major trunk roads as well as broader scale strategic flood risk assessments
This is an ideal opportunity for a numerate and enthusiastic graduate with a particular interest in the technical aspects of flood risk management to work within a multidisciplinary organisation. We will be looking to enrol suitable candidates on the Atkins graduate scheme that offers incentives and full support to individuals to achieve Professional Membership with an appropriate institution.
